Murder Hole Beach
This has been on my todo list for a very long time. Sitting near the northern most point of Ireland on the Fanad Peninsula, Murder Hole is an absolute paradise location. It is well hidden and with good reason.
I overheard a conversation in the local bar, 'The Singing Pub', about the landowner who's field you must cross to get to Murder Hole. It went along the lines of - tourists are wrecking all his fences in their attempts to access varying points of the beach, so he intends to put a walkway across his field to stop all of this. He will charge people for access and I am of the opinion that this is more than justified. He was rumoured to have been approached by Disney for them to use Murder Hole as a filming location - he said no. Good call. All you have to do is look at the many examples of beauty spots in Ireland that have been ruined by reckless tourists. - The Dark Hedges is a prime example of what happens...
I realise the irony of posting this picture.
